  3. This room seems to insite partys, Im not sure whether it is just the “Dancing” print or the fire but this seems like one rad place to drink Whiskey with friends knowing things will always get a bit raucous.

  4. hmm we have been needing something for quite a while to hang in shop to hang prducts off I think something like this should work pretty darn well. This pic is taken in the Origo coffee shop.

  5. We now sell a selection of books we love, there are a few more on their way!

  6. This is one awesome “Secretary” deed box. Firstly it has the original lock and working key and when closed its totally air tight! (so good for also keeping your lunch in) There are intact handles on the sides for carrying. It was made by Rueben Sutcliffe of Manchester and I think the company printed on it is “F. T & E company LTD” but it is quite hard to distinguish.

  7. Dig Haüshizzle are massively on the look out for a taxidermy peacock. They work incredibly well along side a Victoriana look or a clean modern interior.

  8. Dig Haüshizzle is now stocketd on the fabulous website The Hoarde

    http://www.thehoarde.com

There are so many great dealers on this site so as you can imagine loads of great pieces. I could spend forever looking through other peoples items when really I should be focusing on my own!

Here is our lovely front page text by Jane Walton co Director of The Hoarde and owner of 1Hundredd.

“Why are we so excited to be joined by Dig-Haushizzle, because they are an exciting, young company, which is owned by two young upcoming dealers who have shown great flair, artistic talent and a fabulous love and great eye for everything they do.

Nothing excites us more then to see fresh, new talent coming into this great business and we are delighted to be working with them in promoting their business.

They buy and sell quirky, useful, wonderful pieces, through furniture, lighting to all sorts of other items.  Through their shop and fabulous website, they have shown great understanding of how important presentation and marketing of their items is. What comes across from both is their energy, enthusiasm and that they obviously love what they do and do what they love, and we believe these are definitely ones to watch.

I have already nominated them for next year`s Young Guns Award, as they surely represent some of the best talent coming through. ”

Im frantically trying to update our website and The Hoarde at the moment so the camera is out for lots more photos and stock so we should have quite a large section on the Hoarde soon.

We are so very chuffed to have had Jane nominate us for next years Young Gun’s of the antiques trade award.

We have lots of exciting projects coming up in the next few months which I cannot wait to share. Alongside this we are forever buying and restoring and building on what we have at Dig Haüshizzle. Although sometimes I feel I have no idea what I am doing its always sweet to be trying something new everyday.

  9. We now have this sweet cabinet by British company “Compactum” from 1967 in stock.

  10. ahh back to normal. I do love an old crow.

  11. This is not the usual thing I really like, however today it is sunny and this looks like one of the most calmest city retreats. Hey maybe Im just thinking about reading a book outside with a glass of wine with no one to distract me. I think you could do this so very often here.

This is the Optical Glass House in Hiroshima Japan by Hiroshi Nakamura & Nap.

  12. Had a new challenge this week.

Giving some love and a new eye to what looked like a rough taxidermy owl but turned out he was just a little dirty and dusty.

I cant say I am really afraid to try things and I knew on buying this piece that it was actually highly likely I would break either the glass or the owls headbut I had to give it a bash. It had only one eye and I presumed there should be another eye rattling away in there. Also a lot of his shrubbery had come unstuck not to mention a hole in the back had let in a huge amount of dust so you could hardly see him through the thick dust on the inside of the glass.

I managed to prise the original early 20th century rippled glass of without breaking it. This took a lot of fiddling and slow prising to get it off but actually wasnt as scary as I thought. If you do have a really dust bit of taxidermy its totally worth getting the glass off and giving it some love.

I managed to refix in his eye by delicately rapping his head in a cloth while I glued it back in. I so so almost took his head off when I tried just to do it by hand the cloth really helped to hold it all together.

I glued back down lots of his “scenery” generally dusted it all and got out a few manky look bits of scenery and loose feathers glued his glass back in.

Firstly I am very happy I didnt actually reck it, I do not usually like to touch things that are in total original condition but to be fair you just couldn’t see him and now you can so I think I done a pretty good job.

I will definitely go for it again if needs be.

  13. I finally got some ink for the stamp and I got to play with my new toy! Time now to start making our labels also look a bit smarter.

  14. Today is the start of the Spring Decorative Antiques and Textiles Fair in Battersea Park, London. This is always a pretty awesome visit with a huge variation in the collections. If you have not been before I totally recommend it especially if you are a little stuck on ideas for your house but you know you are looking for an Antique touch. Each stand generally has a very clear look that can really help you distinguish what you like and what works well together. Im pretty sure its pretty easy to get free tickets or discounts through their website if you plan on going. Unfortunately we cant make this one way to busy with Dig Haüshizzle but hopefully we are not to far away from having a stand ourselves soon.

  15. This Picture - Loving the highly polished floor in this. Also my liking of Chandeliers changes sporadically mainly due to be massive disliking of fake candle lights however this ones does look beautiful especially with the contrast of the bike and fireplace against the classic opulence.

Parquet - After lots of consideration we are now going for the parquet floor in our lounge and hallway. The more I look as well I think a chevron pattern like this is on the cards rater than the classic herringbone. We are finding plenty of Parquet but struggling to find some one to fit it. As soon as we have sorted our plan we will give you the low down on buying parquet floor reclaimed or not.

p.s what the hell is that gold stool!!
